Housing 36,000 sq. ft., the University of Texas at Austin Estuarine Research Center serves as a head quarters building for the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve, and houses components of the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute. The movable furnishings, which contributed to the building’s LEED Gold Certification, were carefully selected and designed to complement and enhance the building’s architectural character and finished interior environment. The end result is an environment that supports the building users, provides a welcoming environment for the visiting public, and reflects the character of the buildings’ surrounding community.
