The Landings at Brooks City-Base

Conventional wisdom has said that new high-end housing on San Antonio’s South Side was not possible given traditional disinvestment in the area. Sited on the post-BRAC Brooks Air Force Base, The Landings has disproved this notion by leasing up in record time and outperforming the developer’s expectations to such an extent that more phases are underway.  The optimism of the endeavor is reflected in the bold, contemporary forms of the buildings which have more in common with the modern structures of the former Base than the traditional expression of the more prevalent lower-income housing in region.  It is a new architecture for an emerging market and a success story by any measure.
