Two distinct sets of contextual challenges necessitate two very different ideas about how this Fort Worth workforce housing development interacts with the public realm.  Facing Race Street on a redeveloping commercial strip, a three-story contemporary massing with ground-floor commercial storefront and head-in parking plays well with neighbors.  The opposite side of the block abuts a residential street populated with historic Craftsman bungalows.  In response, two-story, porch-served buildings are set back from the sidewalk to create a street yard while neighborhood-scaled fencing, trellises, and building details round out the solution.
