The new Health and Wellness Center combines a remodeling of the existing commons building with a new gymnasium addition.  This new facility includes a collegiate basketball court with elevated running track, workout and fitness rooms, as well as classrooms and offices for the recreational sports and kinesiology departments.

Linking the old with the new is a double height lobby that allows public access directly to the gymnasium and locker rooms, for use by sports teams after hours. The double-sided lobby is a passageway for students linking the parking areas with the new outdoors patios built for take advantage of the beautifully wooded site. From these new patios, students can access pathways linking other buildings on campus.

Architecturally the new center takes it cues from the existing building and from the newer projects creating a transitional structure that blends with both.
