Now a PreK-8th grade Academy, two different renovation and addition projects, in 1995 and 2002, updated the historic 1889 campus to contemporary standards with new classrooms, cafeteria and a physical education facility. Located in the national historic district neighborhood of King William and adjacent to the Lavaca historic neighborhood, the school incorporates the materials, colors and details of the original by contrast, reversing the brick colors. Double hung wood windows, panel doors and brick detailing are subtlety reinterpreted.
