Local Architects weigh in on the Alamo Master Plan

“Being able to freely move into the plaza from any direction is a pivotal character in all great plazas. We feel that the plaza should be both a historic place and a vibrant public space fully connected to the city.

Alamo Architects, along with prominent San Antonio firms Lake|Flato, Overland Partners, and Lawrence Speck, FAIA, submitted a letter raising concerns about the preliminary Master Plan for the city’s treasured Alamo shrine to the Rivard Report.   In the coming days, the letter will be sent to the Texas General Land Office, the City of San Antonio officials, City Council, and the Alamo Endowment for consideration.
