The existing campus, with its neo-gothic collegiate style, was designed
by noted San Antonio architect Leo M. J. Diehlmann. Beige face brick and
stone details similar to the original buildings form the basis for the design
vocabulary of the new dormitory. These details are reinterpreted in the new
building-steep pitched roofs with dormer windows relate the massing to the
original buildings and the lower buildings nearby. To distinguish the new
dormitory as a modern interpretation of the existing architecture, glazed
brick accents contribute uniqueness and color.
The new residence hall incorporates approximately 54,000 square feet of space
containing 98 rooms to house 196 students and resident assistants.
