John Jay High School

John Jay High School

Alamo Architects was charged by the school board with the task of bringing the 1967 campus up to current district high school standards.

The large-scale addition and renovation project consists of 60,000 square feet of new construction in five separate additions to the existing campus. Included are a new library, band hall, dance studio, little theater and language laboratories. These facilities were designed to infuse new life to the campus by introducing lively colored patterned exteriors and by introducing natural light through raised ceiling areas in the interior public spaces and library.

Renovations to the existing buildings include counselors’ and administration offices as well as renovations to the classroom wing. A visitor’s entry, parking lot and a baseball field were also included. Significant HVAC upgrades for the existing campus were made, including new mechanical systems for the main building.
