Lammers’ almost 25-year career has focused on providing technical and management expertise for building projects ranging from schools to multi-story parking garages to retail development. He is certified by the United States Green Building Council as a LEED-accredited professional, and heads Alamo Architects’ efforts to promote sustainable architecture.
Lammers’ interest in sustainable design was a natural progression. “When I was in school, my inclinations were either to become an ecologist or an architect,” he says. “Our focus now is to implement sustainable design strategies without unnecessarily increasing the building’s cost, or making the building conform to outmoded ideas about how green buildings must look. We can enhance the comfort levels of the occupants and decrease the environmental footprint of whatever we build,” he adds.
