After exploring numerous different site planning ideas, the scheme selected placed a new 44,000 square foot, two story addition built northwest of the existing building.

The building is set at a slight angle to avoid the existing 5th grade building while maintaining a direct connection to the main building. The addition provides 19 grade-level classrooms, one music classroom and a Library/Learning Resource suite.

The Library utilizes a ¼ circle configuration, thus giving the librarian an uninterrupted view of the entire library from his or her desk. Clerestory windows allow light to enter over the corridor intersection and the library circulation desk. A communal teaching space off the main corridor was created by splitting the north facing classrooms into two sections. Each classroom contains a series of day lighting windows located near the ceiling and a single view window.

The existing library and administrative areas are proposed to be renovated into new functions. New covered visitors entry and bus drop offs add shelter to existing school. The existing main entry was enclosed to create a new central lobby. A tile floor pattern exhibiting the phases of the moon, and celestial constellations was created for the corridors.
