The 2013 Texas Society of Architects Convention was held in Fort Worth, Texas.  Joining the schedule of educational sessions, Alamo Architects co-presented “SoFlo: Post Occupancy Evaluation” with OCO Architects and Cleary Zimmermann Engineers.

Taking a close look at the shared site of our renovated architectural office buildings, Alamo Architects and OCO Architects revisited the design and decision making process that initially led to the creation of their LEED Silver SoFlo Offices.  In their presentation they addressed the important, but often overlooked, aspect: what happens after the building is complete?

Does the building perform as expected?  Working in coordination with Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, the Post-Occupancy Evaluation challenged our initial assumptions regarding our energy consumption and is allowing us to make informed decisions regarding conservation opportunities as we move forward.
